Father’s Day

This was my first Father’s Day without my dad. It actually went better than I thought it would. I miss him so much.  But I know he is happy now with God and my mom. He had been so lonely since my mom died. I am just being selfish wanting him here. And I will see him and my mom again one day.  He wouldn’t have liked all this hot weather anyway.  My oldest grandson graduated this year and I wished he could have been here for that. He would have been so proud of him. But I thank God I had the time I had with him. He was such an inspiration to so many people and he was really the only stable male figure in my kid’s life.  He was all about buying American made things and I know he would have loved the fact that my Toy store www.AmericanToyBoutique.com is American made toys and games. Every time I see the Checker board set it reminds me of him. He always played checkers with the grandkids and great grandkids. He use to play them with my brother growing up but he was always win and it would make my brother mad (he wasn’t a very good sport).  I have been very blessed to have a Father as wonderful as him.

What Did You Like To Play?

When you were a kid, what did you play?  Did you ride your bike in circles in the driveway until you were dizzy?  Did you dress up Mommy’s clothes and make mud pies for your dolls and stuffed animals?  Did you treat your baby dolls “broken arm” with band-aids? Or dress your dog or cat in baby doll clothes?

Sometimes it seems like kids are doing silly things but it’s their work. I have 1 grandson that he pretends everything he does has something to do with a car. And another grandson that writes short book’s, makes up games and then sells them. Every kid has something so unique about them. I love just to sit back and watch and listen to them.

They learn so much in their first few years on life. What are some of the things the children in your life playing?  Are they riding their bikes or pretend playing?  Sit back and watch and listen to them.

We have a lot of educational and pretend play toys and games at www.AmericanToyBoutique.com.
